The Adventurer (S2, E9)

Jim Harris stepped off the train in Brownstown. The sun was smiling down on the earth and melting last night's rain off of the hazy green grass. Jim stretched and yawned. He had had a refreshing rest that night even though it was short, and was ready to tackle his case in a new light.
Jim walked up to the man at the ticket counter.
"Could you tell me the way to the nearest hotel?" He asked. The man gave him directions, but eyed him suspiciously for he had no suitcase or luggage. Jim left the station quickly because he did not want anybody to start asking too many questions.
"I have to infiltrate this town if I want to get information on Andy Sandler!" Jim thought, "And the best way to do that is to pretend to be a circus actor." He looked at his nice black suit and shiny Oxford loafers. "First things first, I need to look like an actor, and an actor would never be wearing these clothes!"
Jim slipped unnoticed into a back alley where he glanced anxiously around to see whether there was anyone watching him. Then he removed his overcoat and suit jacket and layed them on the street. He pulled off his silk tie and wrapped it up and put it into his pants pocket. Taking off his hat, he ran his fingers throught his hair to give it a tousled look. He rolled up his sleeves and began to rub dust into his shirt, jacket, slacks, and hat until they looked like he had lived in the same suit of clothes for several days on end.
"I'll leave you here for a while." Jim said putting his folded overcoat into a tight ledge between two walls. He picked up his jacket and draped it over his arm, then shoved his papers and wallet into his pocket and started up the street looking like a very different sort of person.
"Now just to get into the circus." He thought.
To be continued...
